For an all-purpose cutting utensil, nothing beats this 8" Chinese Cleaver. Every part of the knife can be put to use. The precision sharpened edge of the blade is used for cutting, while the blunter top edge is used to pound and tenderize meat. Turned on its side, the high-carbon stainless steel cleaver is an excellent tool for smashing garlic and ginger. An added bonus is that the flat end of the black POM handle nicely substitutes for a pestle. Overall, this cleaver measures at 12 inches long by 3-1/4 inches wide with a blade length of 8 inches long by 3-1/4 inches wide.
