Trimark USA has merged two of its prominent e-commerce brands into a single operation.

The company’s BigTray and ChefsToys.com divisions will now function as one sales team under the Chefs’ Toys brand.

Frank Braudrick, senior vice president of retail, west region at TriMark USA, said: “We are excited to be uniting two teams that have a loyal customer base built on the foundation of lasting relationships with our customers.

“Whether that customer is an independent restaurateur, university, resort, or a home chef, BigTray and Chefs’ Toys have taken pride in providing top-notch customer service to all customer types along with offering the quality product solutions they need for their home or business.”

BigTray was formed in the Bay Area in 1999 as one of the country’s first online dealers in the foodservice equipment and supplies category.

Chefs’ Toys was founded in Southern California in 1988 as a chef-founded knife sharpening company and smallwares supplies truck.

As well as its online proposition, Chefs’ Toys operates 12 brick-and-mortar retail stores spanning from San Diego to Sacramento, and plans to expand further.

TriMark USA said the model offers customers a robust omni-channel shopping experience, including a ‘buy online and collect from store’ option.

Chefs’ Toys also offers a multitude of services such as design consulting and delivery coordination via its own truck fleet.
